The Hino 358 has been optimized for heavy duty service. A 14,000 lb. front axle, 23,000 lb. rear axle, combined with a standard 120,000 psi heavy duty frame and optional driver-controlled locking rear differential makes the Hino 358 ideal for delivering heavy loads where maximum frame strength and traction are required. The standard full air, S-cam type drum braking system provides reliable and effective braking.
The 358 is powered by Hino's 260 hp, 7.6L 6-cylinder, turbocharged, diesel engine with 660 lb.-ft. of torque and is available with either an Eaton FS6406A manual transmission or a heavy-duty Allison 3000RDS 6-speed automatic transmission both with PTO capability. The 358 is offered with both spring and Hendrickson rear air suspensions.
With available wheelbases from 187" to 271", the 358 can be customized to suit individual needs. The heavy duty Hino 358 is everything you've come to expect from a Hino: superb maneuverability, excellent visibility and a long list of standard features to ensure driver comfort.
Recommended applications for the Hino 358 include: building materials delivery, tanker, dump, and refrigerated bodies.
Hino offers a “clean chassis” option for the 2012 358 model. For applications that require the outside of the frame rail to be clear behind the cab, the clean chassis can be an option. The clean chassis configuration is ideal for a beverage body, car carriers, street sweepers and battery carriers.
